Software Architectural Services...

Building Block Software provides Software Architectural Services for most types of software development efforts. Whether you are doing Client/Server, Applications, Java, C++, C, Cross Platform, unix, PC, Mac, MacOSX, Hardware Integration, microcode, or embeded software, we can help with your architectural and implementation needs. We also provide Java Performance and Optimization consulting and guidance as well as General Software Consulting and Contract Services.

Although it is best to start architectures in the beginning of a product's life cycle, reworkin, or refactoring a project, can help move towards a cleaner, more understandable and less brittle software solution set.

We can provide refactoring or initial achitectural work for your software solutions. Our staff and associates have decades of experience developing simple and flexible architectures and software designs. We can, based on your need either follow through with an outstanding implementation, or hand it off to your implementation team. We pride ourselves on being able to work with what you have. If there is already a design team in place we can easily play a supporting or guiding role.

Our track record speaks for itself. Some of our major accomplishments are as follows:

Architected the Remote Order Entry System (ROES) for Softworks Inc, of Syracuse NY, allowing end users to edit, order and print digital images from home to a film lab of their choice.

Refactored and completed GEDDS, a distributed, realtime, radiation monitoring system for MJWCorp in Bufallo NY.

Architected a super scaleable and distributed peer to peer network and file sharing protocol, for GigaBot Technologies in Webster NY, allowing massive distributed and redundent data sets and distributed compute collboration.

Kodak Color Management System (KCMS), a platform independent, object oriented, architecture with implementations used in Kodak ColorSense, a Macintosh and Windows Color Management application tool as well as an implementation for Solaris.

Intelligent Color Imaging & Communications (ICIC) infrastructure done at Kodak that integrated imaging into the compound document models of OLE, Taligent and OpenDoc.

One of the original architects for the Image Manipulation Architecture(IMA), a super scalable imaging architecture for parallel, distributed, imaging applications. Sun MicroSystem's, JavaSoft, exploited the original design patterns of IMA for their latest Java2D and JAI imaging extensions.
